NFI offers volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups both on and off-site at our urban farm site in NE DC. The work is general organic farm maintenance, including digging, weeding, sifting compost, planting and more.
Our workdays not only help us maintain our farm, but also provide community members an informal opportunity to learn about the basics of organic gardening.
We host regular volunteer workdays on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings from March-October. Register as an Urban Grower online and sign- up for our weekly newsletter for more information and regular updates on volunteer opportunties

NFI has a great volunteer base, but we still need to make sure that we have the funds to cover the costs for the tools, equipment, and gardening materials that we need to continue to offer the programs that make NFI such a successful organization.
